The small church of San Rocco is located in Rotello, in the province of Campobasso and was the protagonist of the renovation of the interior carried out by architects Luigi Valente + Mauro Di Bona. The structure, which boasts sixteenth-century origins, has been reinterpreted with greater freedom, especially inside, a space transformed into a permanent venue for shows and a multipurpose hall. Inside the church we find ourselves walking on a portion of the original floor of the church in beige stone that, in other areas, has been replaced by a more current white flooring, matching the walls. The interior's physiognomy plays on the contrast dictated by the combination of black and white, which is accentuated by the location in the center of the auditorium of 90 black armchairs facing the stage, seats used for theater performances and conferences. A series of previous renovation projects had meant that the old church was unused: the original wooden ceiling had been demolished with the installation of a false ceiling. Luigi Valente and Mauro Di Bona removed it and reconstructed a wooden ceiling with the original beams, which can now be seen at regular intervals in the hall.
