Atelier Avéus’ collection presented through Hitchcock’s films

Few filmmakers were able to pay the same identical attention to different elements of the film, from the screenplay to the choice of actors, from the types of shooting to the set design. Among these, Alfred Hitchcock certainly stands out. No one better than him has managed to invest the set design of such an important significance. In his films, the spaces, the architecture, the buildings, the furnishings are a real means of telling the story. Each element reflects the mood of the characters and as well as adapting perfectly to what is happening, many times it is the places that lead the narrative, just think of Rear Window. Hitchcock and his attention to space inspired the designers of Atelier Avéus to present their new furniture through three visuals.

The first visual is called The Secret Room Hotel and is inspired by the famous scene shot in the hotel room in Vertigo. This mysterious scenario, made to receive secrets and lust, was designed to present a mini console with a mirror.

The second, named The Uncanny Lobby, takes us directly back to the castle in Rebecca, with its high ceilings and monumental staircase to present a lamp with contemporary shapes made of glass and iron.

The third and final visual entitled The Confinement Room presents an armchair addressing the theme of confinement and living in a small space for a long time, the subject of the previously mentioned Rear Window

Atelier Avéus’ window is an original idea that blends modern design with the studio’s designers’ boundless passion for cinema.
