Some icons don’t age—they transform. The Brionvega Radiofonografo, born in 1965 from the brilliant minds of the Castiglioni brothers, remains a cult object that defies time, captivating generations of design and music enthusiasts. At Milan Design Week 2025, this legend of sound design will take center stage in À.RIA. A medium for connection, an installation curated by Archiproducts Milano and Studiopepe at Opificio 31. This event offers a chance to rediscover a piece of history that continues to surprise.

The rr226 Radiofonografo is not just an audio device—it’s a true experience. Its modular design, featuring adjustable speakers and a visual aesthetic that balances familiarity with futurism, perfectly embodies Achille Castiglioni’s philosophy: “Objects should keep you company.” It’s no coincidence that David Bowie owned a customized version, recognizing its ability to bring a space to life.

Handcrafted with premium materials, the Radiofonografo preserves the charm of Italian craftsmanship while incorporating modern functionalities: Bluetooth connectivity, a Pro-Ject turntable with an Ortofon cartridge, and a wooden structure on wheels, designed to fit any setting. Available in white, red, orange, blue, and a limited-edition cherry wood finish, its robotic “face”—composed of buttons and knobs—continues to smile at the future.

Within À.RIA, the Radiofonografo will interact with a scenography exploring the concept of connection. The installation turns air into a tangible element through iridescent surfaces, dynamic reflections, and ever-changing materials. Featuring over 50 international brands, this immersive journey goes beyond interior design, showcasing iconic pieces such as Bellini’s Totem for Brionvega, Norr11’s Jagger sofa, and Studiopepe’s sculptural lighting for Pholc.
