Following last year’s, a new collaboration between WACKO MARIA and the artistic legacy of Jean-Michel Basquiat is on the way.

For this Spring/Summer 2021, the Japanese brand has created a series of Hawaiian shirts embellished with the masterpieces of the American artist.

WACKO MARIA’s latest drop is in fact composed of colorful Hawaiian shirts perfect for summer with all-over prints depicting works such as Untitled (History of the Black People), Untitled (Head) and Obnoxious Liberals.

Basquiat’s work has always been a source of great inspiration for brands, just think of the collaborations with UNIQLO UT and COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT, this also comes from the immediacy of his works and the enormous impact they have had on pop culture and art in an absolute sense.

WACKO MARIA and Jean-Michel Basquiat’s Hawaiian shirts will be available starting tomorrow, May 1st on the Japanese brand’s website.
