At the center of the Maldives coral reef, near the island of Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi, where the luxury Fairmont resort is located, the Coralarium sculpture was built.

The work, signed by the sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor, who has always been involved in environmental protection works, half of which has fallen into the ocean has as its ultimate goal to save the oceans. In fact, around this semi-submerged museum, over time will form an artificial coral reef, which will become home to hundreds of animals and plants.

The cube-shaped sculpture remains partially on the surface and at night lights up with a soft light so as to attract fish and other sea creatures.

Above and within it there are 14 sculptures, some submerged others out of the water, of men and children. Moreover, thanks to an opening in the upper part, you can enter the sculpture by swimming, thus being able to better observe both the statues and the marine fauna and flora.
