At a time when design is searching for new expressive forms and deeper connections with craftsmanship, Faye Toogood returns to the spotlight with Lucid Dream, a project presented in New York during NYCxDesign, which navigates between dream and matter — between painterly instinct and functionality.

Lucid Dream draws on a layered narrative that unfolds through sculptural objects and painterly gestures, where each piece seems to have emerged from a waking dream. The furniture — meticulously handmade by small artisans and finished with artistic interventions directly in the designer’s London studio — speaks the language of intuition and intentional imperfection. Iconic pieces like the Roly Poly Dining Table and the Gummy series serve as canvases for abstract compositions, impulsive brushstrokes, and personal symbolism.

With Lucid Dream, Faye Toogood not only reaffirms her place in the elite of contemporary design but also challenges the boundary between art and object, between dream and function. It is a statement of intent — an invitation to slow down and truly observe the beauty that arises from imperfection.

The exhibition is open until June 21 at The Future Perfect and TIWA Select in New York.
