Mexican artist Ricardo Gonzalez aka IT'S A LIVING leaves his mark on city walls with impeccable calligraphy.

It’s almost impossible not to recognize a mural by IT’S A LIVING. Born in the Mexican state of Durango, Ricardo Gonzalez has always had a passion for calligraphy, ever since he observed and studied his grandfather’s beautiful and elegant calligraphy. Then, over the years, Ricardo undertook his graphic design studies, before moving to New York and attending Type@Cooper.

Here, thanks to the contamination of street art, Ricardo Gonzalez became IT’S A LIVING and began to bring back to the walls the teachings and notions of typography.

Even today, the murals of the Mexican artist are nothing more than single words or short sentences made with perfect calligraphy. In addition, to create movement, sometimes the writing is repeated endlessly in different shades of color, giving rise to a result almost psychedelic.

The creative process almost always starts from paper or computer and then reaches the wall, but not only.

In fact, IT’S A LIVING does not set limits and goes from simple walls to entire facades of buildings, rooms and, why not, even scenarios in video games.

In our gallery, you can find a selection of the works of IT’S A LIVING.
