J.Kim Portrays Motherhood as a Playful and Lighthearted Journey

J.Kima brand deeply rooted in Uzbek culture – unveils its Fall/Winter 2025 collection with a theme as powerful as it is significant: motherhood. Not as a burden, but as an adventure to be embraced with irony and lightness. The goal is to transform the journey of motherhood into a delicate balancing act between self-discovery and devotion, blending functionality, comfort, and an infectious dose of creativity.

The collection unfolds like a narrative, beginning with the purity of birth and extending through the first six months of maternal experience. White, a symbol of new beginnings, serves as the starting point: a pristine dress akin to a blank page, its silhouette reminiscent of a toy tambourine—both resilient and delicate. Structured fabrics evoke the strength of motherhood, while vintage materials in bold colors inject vibrancy and nostalgia.

J.Kim’s imaginative approach comes to life in the details. A vest is adorned with a piala, the traditional Uzbek teacup, crafted from rare vintage fabrics featuring bird motifs. It pairs with a removable lemon made from an Uzbek scarf, a tribute to lemon tea, a popular drink in the region. Beaded embellishments mimic jingling bells, while vintage fabric trims soften the sharp lines of the garments. Femininity emerges through thoughtful details designed for mothers’ everyday lives: an elongated button closure facilitates breastfeeding without sacrificing elegance, and embroidered nylon pieces add a refined touch even to oversized silhouettes.

Uzbek craftsmanship intertwines with the brand’s contemporary language through suzani embroidery, while elements inspired by traditional Korean hanbok for infants and Soviet-era toys take shape in handmade animal figures and keychains—interactive components that can be attached to the garments, turning them into playful, dynamic pieces.

J.Kim rewrites the narrative of motherhood: no longer just sacrifice and exhaustion, but an experience of transformation, discovery, and vitality. The J.Kim mother does not lose herself—she finds herself. And she does so with irony, playfulness, and a renewed awareness of her femininity.
