Escif’s new work is a great mural made in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, near Barcelona, called La Plaza es Nuestra.
The Spanish street artist, in collaboration with Contorno Urbano and Kaligrafics (two main characters in Spanish public art), pays tribute to one of most important historical events of the city, which during the Franco regime fight for the freedom of its square.
In 1977 some citizens of La Salud opposed with courage against the construction of a gas station. During a night they buried the cement mixer, covered it with ground and, in the end, they plant a tree on it. Still today the cement mixer is under the square.
With this mural, Escif wants to put the accent on the importance to fight and he wants to remember personal stories and the voices of whom passed away. Because of the importance of this neighborhood, he dedicated his work to all the inhabitant of it.
