The last time we talked about Max Siedentopf was before the lockdown, when the artist and designer did a lot of talking with the project How-To Survive A Deadly Global Virus, presenting a series of alternative masks made with any available object, from a salad leaf to the Nutella jar. Maybe now it’s not so funny anymore. 

Now Max Siedentopf is back with a new and hilarious project entitled Mundane Machines, straddling sculpture, design and photography. 

The artist wants to focus attention on a theme that is always much talked about, that of technology, not only related to the smartphone but trying to make us think about how every single aspect of our lives is being digitized and how every day new devices are being made more and more intelligent. 

Some people call them the future, extraordinary discoveries, but Max Siedentopf wants us to notice how soon, without even realizing it, even the most trivial objects of our everyday life will become machines. After all, this is what has already happened to shoes, cars, cigarettes and many other objects.
