Caramel is the new collection by industrial designer Maxim Tatarintsev for Svoy Design, a system of ceramic objects that brings lighting and furniture into dialogue through a modular approach. More than just a simple product series, the project develops as a composable language that includes pendant, wall, and ceiling lamps, together with a hybrid element that can function both as a side table and a pouf, designed for indoor environments but also suitable for covered outdoor spaces.

The starting point of the collection comes from a personal reflection by the designer, who looks at childhood as a space of authenticity and lightness. Candy becomes a symbolic reference, linked to a shared memory between the 1990s and early 2000s, capable of evoking a simple and immediate emotional dimension. In this sense, Caramel also positions itself as a response to contemporary visual complexity, favoring soft shapes and a reassuring aesthetic that invites users to slow down.

The modular structure allows the lighting elements to function as independent units that can be combined into ever-changing configurations. The project therefore moves away from a rigid formal solution to leave space for customization, transforming the user into an active part of the creative process and allowing each composition to adapt to different contexts.

From a production standpoint, the lamps are made in semi-porcelain using traditional slip-casting techniques, followed by drying and high-temperature firing. The side table, on the other hand, is created through an experimental composite process developed by the brand, designed to improve the material’s durability and expand its range of applications. The result is a collection that combines material research and design flexibility, creating objects capable of adapting over time and engaging with constantly evolving spaces.
