Jan Kaláb is a Czech street artist who grew up in Eastern Europe during the Cold War, and his work has infuriated a generation of artists.

Jan Kaláb, is a street artist also known as POINT or CAKES who works mainly outdoors. The Czech artist grew up in Eastern Europe during the Cold War, where graffiti and the street art scene was non-existent.

That’s why in the 1990s, Kaláb paved the way for the street community that would soon be formed. His works are abstract works characterized by hypnotic and colorful concentric circles that the artist has repeatedly defined as:

“An obsessive vocabulary for endless variations around depth, time and movement.”

The play between structure and perception in his vibrant murals has also conquered the galleries, in fact his first solo exhibition “SHAPE & TONE” has just ended at the Fabien Castanier Gallery in Miami.
