The ten artists shaping the future of the Olympics and Paralympics

Ten voices from the new Italian art scene reinterpret the Olympic and Paralympic spirit in an exhibition that merges sports, art, and contemporary visual culture. When we talk about the Olympics and Paralympics, the collective imagination fills with sports, challenges, and medals. But behind every edition, there is also a broader narrative, made of symbols, visual identities, and cultural interpretations. From this awareness comes the project Art Posters of Milano Cortina 2026, promoted by the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 and Triennale Milano, in collaboration with the IOC and IPC. A collection of authorial posters that transforms the spirit of the Games into contemporary visual language.

The artists behind the artworks for the Olympics and Paralympics

Ten Italian artists under 40 signed the ten works, selected to offer a personal and free interpretation of Olympic and Paralympic values. Representing the Olympic Games are Beatrice Alici, Martina Cassatella, Giorgia Garzilli, Maddalena Tesser, and Flaminia Veronesi (featured on the cover). For the Paralympic Games, the contributors are Roberto de Pinto, Andrea Fontanari, Aronne Pleuteri, Clara Woods, and Giulia Mangoni.

The Art Posters for the Olympics and Paralympics are not just communication tools, but true works of art, part of a tradition that since 1972 has involved big names such as Robert Rauschenberg, Andy Warhol, David Hockney, and Eduardo Chillida. A dialogue between sport and art that is renewed today with a fresh, vibrant, and deeply Italian perspective.

The project, curated by Damiano Gullì – curator of contemporary art and public programs at Triennale – is part of a broader path to valorize Italian painting, which already found expression in the 2023 exhibition Italian Painting Today. Now, with the Art Posters, this commitment expands toward a global horizon, thanks also to the international visibility the Games will bring.

The works will be on display starting tomorrow, June 19, 2025, until March 15, 2026, in the newly renovated Park Floor galleries of the Triennale, alongside the Olympic and Paralympic torches unveiled last April. The posters will also be available for purchase at the Triennale’s bookshop and, soon, online.

“Our ambition,” comments Domenico De Maio, Education & Cultural Director of the Foundation, “is that this experience can represent an opportunity for growth and international recognition for the young artists involved.” A symbolic and cultural legacy that goes beyond 2026, telling through images the dreams, challenges, and values that unite sport and society.
