In such a delicate historical period for the United Kingdom, it is almost necessary to set up an event that deals with the theme of British identity in Brexit time. The National Portrait Gallery in London recently opened the doors of a major new exhibition dedicated to the legendary British photographer Martin Parr, Only Human. The event focuses on the theme of “Britishness” and what it means to be English today.

Parr explained that:

“One of the main themes is British identity and given March 2019 is when we are supposedly leaving the European Union, the timing could not be better”.

Inside the exhibition, we find everything that gravitates around the British identity: in fact, in addition to the images of ordinary people, “Only Human” also exhibits some portraits of celebrities such as Vivienne Westwood, Cara Delevigne and Pele.
