Who makes mistakes learns, we’ve always been told, but what if it’s not a bad thing to do so? Soluzioni Festival returns this year to celebrate mistakes.
“We celebrate error. We celebrate its creative and liberating force. We are shrapnel. System bugs.” reads the manifesto.
With its second edition, the Turin festival dedicated to visual arts animates for three days – March 23-25, 2023 – Barriera di Milano, one of the liveliest neighborhoods in the Piedmontese capital. The Stasis Lab space (at 44 Montanaro Street) will host an extensive program of workshops “where you can learn to make mistakes better,” live paintings, live performances, video installations and a closing party with DJ sets.
The artists involved this year are Marco Vesco, FFFanci, Elisa Caroli / Lois, Beatrice Gasca Queirazza, Alessandro Cripsta, Marta Monge, Matteo Giuntini and Massimiliano Marzucco, illustrators, cartoonists and graphic designers have reasoned on the theme of error, proposing a large selection of works.

Today we focus on Matteo Giuntini (1977, Livorno), an artist and illustrator who over the years has worked with advertising agencies, record companies, companies and fashion houses including Valentino. He has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, the most important of which include the Macro in Rome and the Museo Civico in Crema. His works arise from an ironic introspective analysis and his imagery is composed of natural elements and animals, made by combining painting, drawing and collage. The faunal stylization references the world of old school tattoos and Mexican art, underscoring Giuntini’s interest in the exotic, which at times borders on the grotesque. Tigers, crocodiles, parrots and different varieties of flowers serve not only as aesthetic elements but are symbols that relate to the intimacy of each of us. The work presented by Solutions Festival is titled L’errore di Pandorino and is a stylized depiction of a man’s asymmetrical face, crippled by random black and white marks, with intense red eyes looking amusedly at the viewer.
