As if it were Escher of street art, David Louf aka Mr. June has been making three-dimensional murals on architectural elements, confusing the viewer. During the course of this year, he made several works including a piece in Little Havana, Miami, a dome of over 130 feet in diameter in North Carolina, a 3D curved mural for the RAW project in Denver, and more recently, a great piece for Urban Nation in Berlin.
The main influences of his work come from graphics and typography, readapted in a street art key for a more immediate and impactful reading. Each building and wall represents a challenge for the artist, who states:
“I always hope I can create a moment of awareness. Awareness of the viewer at that spot at that moment “.
After the work in Berlin, David plans to make new works in Amsterdam, Aruba and in China; there will also be a personal exhibition in Miami, which will take place during the week of Art Basel.
You can find more on his website and on Instagram, below you can also find a video of the work done in Greensboro, North Carolina.
