Takashi Murakami for Black Lives Matter

-

Among the artists who have decided to use their voice and their art to support the Black Lives Matter movement, as of this morning there is also the Japanese painter and sculptor Takashi Murakami who has announced a limited edition whose proceeds will all be donated to American organizations fighting against racism and social inequality.

The collection includes six different prints inspired by the BLM movement and featuring iconic elements of the artist, including his quintessential flowers and skull designs.

All prints, 300 copies of each, will be signed and numbered by the artist himself and sold on the NTWRK app for a price that has not yet been made public, as opposed to the target which has been set at over a million dollars which will be divided between Black Lives Matter, Equal Justice Initiative and Color of Change.

If my art can effect any change here and now, I want to contribute it not only to give back but to give power to the Black community plagued by the racial injustice. – Takashi Murakami
