The North Face has recently presented one of its most famous capsules ever made: the Trans-Antarctica capsule collection.
For this Fall 21/22 TNF proposes a historical collection but declined in a streetwear and urban key.

In 1990 a team of explorers from all over the world organized the first non-mechanized crossing of Antarctica. The expedition covered more than 6500 km and its aim was to focus the attention of international public opinion on the issue of climate change.

We dedicated an article to this extraordinary feat some time ago, which examined the role of one of the sponsors of that unprecedented crossing.
The incredible success of the expedition played a fundamental role in raising collective awareness of the importance of preserving Antarctica and protecting uncontaminated places, which has always been part of The North Face’s DNA since its inception.

This capsule combines some details of the original one used on the 1990 expedition with new recycled materials and consists of: the Transantarctic Expedition Parka, the Transantarctica Pants in 2-layer DryVent™ and the Transantarctica Fleece.

To celebrate this release and the history of exploration that is integral to the brand’s soul, The North Face presented an exciting video titled “Peace of History”, in which the explorer who led the 1990 Antarctic expedition, Will Steger, talks about his experience, what it means and what exploration means to him, sharing a reflection on the theme of global cooperation and protecting our planet.
