Panorama, the short film by Gianluca Abbate, winner of the Corto d’Argento 2016, is literally a seven-minute tracking shot that, going from left to right, offers us a new and unprecedented vision of the city. The polis is no longer the place of infinite possibilities but has become a saturated place, where no one has his/her living space anymore.
Visually, this concept is transformed into a digital collage of buildings, people of different ethnicities, and thousands of objects, from cars that fly to giant pills, but the more you advance the more you go back to the origins, or rather nature becomes more and more predominant, to overwhelm everything.
Pay attention also to the sounds, because this overabundance of people and objects is also revealed in the background noises, in the continuous voice that accompanies us throughout the length of the short.
Will cities become so in the future?
