Corteccia is a Milan/Brianzolo duo who have just published their Ep “Quadrilogia degli stati d’animo”, a work of four tracks, each accompanied by a video they produced.
Pietro Puccio lives in Milan. He is a visual artist, illustration and drawing teacher at NABA in Milan. Often his work is accompanied by a harmonic and rhythmic drive, which he believes is already inherent in the practice of drawing itself.
Simone Pirovano lives in Casatenovo, Brianza, and has made sound and communication his profession. He has a recording studio, which he uses for the production of groups with very different sounds, but always with a very precise and personal idea of sound.
Published four years after the debut album of the same name, the EP represents the first of three quadrilogies that will define the new sound and visual horizon of Corteccia.
Quadrilogy of moods collects within itself four thematic tracks, each dedicated to a different emotional state.
The EP combines deeply contemporary sounds with progressions close to the Sixties, mixing piano, voice, drums and digital instrumentation.

Exclusively for Collater.al mag they have created a playlist with all their influences!
“The playlist we created is very sound conscious. To the natural sound recorded in the most refined way possible to capture all its nuances, and to the processed sound that in this case is not already electronic but is practically always a transformation from analog.
These are all pieces that transport the listener into a sea of atmospheres in which to immerse oneself, like the sirens of Ulysses towards which one has an unbridled desire to go. It is a playlist that is inspiring us a lot (but we are only at the beginning) because it has a great variety of colours; we have all fixed the sky with the clouds constantly moving: you always find a new point where to rest your eyes.
Another powerful element is the amount of instruments used, almost always very few: drums, piano, a few synths, voice; reduced to a minimum and maybe for this reason extremely careful in giving a fascinating shape to melodies and atmospheres”.
