Jonathan Pauwels aka Jaune è uno stencil artist belga che crea interventi urbani nella sua città natale, Bruxelles, dove mette a dura prova minuscoli operai e lavoratori.
Il suo intento, tramite gli stencil che applica ovunque, è quello di cambiare il ruolo di queste figure tanto importanti quanto ignorate dal resto della comunità.

Adibite infatti a sistemare ciò che noi mettiamo in disordine, non vengono considerate nel modo in cui l’artista ritiene dovrebbe esser fatto e quindi, per ripicca, li trasforma in tanti piccoli disturbatori.

“Despite performing an important public service in garish fluorescent clothing, I observed that [sanitation workers] exist in the background of our urban environment, becoming almost invisible to the average person. It was in 2011 that I decided to free these characters from their roles by symbolically placing them in ever more absurd and whimsical scenarios in and around the city streets. Those who were supposed to keep the world tidy have become harbingers of chaos.”
