Since its introduction, the New Balance 99X line has always remained true to itself.
The history of the series starts from a long time ago and precisely in 1982 when, the company founded in Boston in 1906, revolutionized the world of sneakers with a shoe that will consolidate the brand identity, the New Balance 990. At the time there were a lot of detractors because of its not exactly affordable price (it was the first running sneaker to cost $100) but the 990 responded to those same detractors with 38 years of life and a constant aesthetic over time, characterized by the classic grey color.

In 2006, to celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary, New Balance launched a new 99X series sneaker, the 992.
NB’s president, Jim Davis, said that there was someone in particular who “helped” the Boston designers to create the 992 silhouette, this someone was Apple founder Steve Jobs. 

Always fond of the 99X line, Jobs wrote a letter to Davis, in which he expressed the request for a “more sporty and trendy” shoe than the ones he used to wear, those words were the basis for the realization of the 992. 

On the occasion of the next release of a new 992 colorway, the German sneaker shop 43einhalb has created an editorial that pays homage to the passion of Steve Jobs.
The two colorways, the grey OG and the new light brown, were shot next to what has characterized the style of Jobs and that most represents him in the collective imagination: a pair of light-colored Levi’s 501, the black turtleneck sweater and the rimless glasses.
Unfortunately, we don’t have a date for the new release of the 992 yet but we are sure that they will be sold out very quickly so, stay alert because we will not fail to give you news as soon as we know something more.
