To celebrate Swarovski’s 130th anniversary, Gufram blends its radical vision with the crystalline savoir-faire of the historic Austrian maison. The result is a new, sparkling version of the Guframini CACTUS, a limited edition of just 500 pieces that gives a precious twist to one of the most beloved icons of Italian design.

Each miniature, made at 1:8 scale compared to the original designed in 1972 by Guido Drocco and Franco Mello, is hand-decorated with Swarovski crystals in the Erinite hue, evoking dewdrops of light on a desert surface. The result is an object that captures and reflects light in a hypnotic visual play, transforming Gufram’s famous cactus into a small totem of elegance and irony.

True to the tradition of the Turin-based brand, this version also maintains the perfect balance between art and function, carrying forward the spirit of Radical Design that has made Gufram an international benchmark since the 1960s. Alongside craftsmanship and material experimentation, this celebratory edition adds a new level of refinement: the brilliance of the crystals merges with the object’s ironically organic form, turning it into a collectible piece perfect for contemporary interiors, curatorial spaces, or the shelves of museums and collectors.
“The Guframini CACTUS has always been a symbol of radical creativity: big personality in a small form. Now, with the touch of Swarovski crystals, it not only stands out, it shines,” says Charley Vezza, Global Creative Orchestrator at Gufram.
A meeting between irreverence and mastery, between the boldness of Italian design and Swarovski’s sparkling precision: the new Guframini CACTUS x Swarovski is proof that even icons can evolve, continuing to amaze onlookers.
