Hermés has a new workshop for making leather products.
Designed by French-Lebanese architect Lina Ghotmeh, the brand-new space is located in Louviers, France and was built using more than 500,000 bricks produced there.

Covering an area of more than 6,000 square meters, the structure is characterized not only by bricks, but also by wood and pointed arches, which give the complex a classic yet refined aesthetic by illuminating the large spaces with natural light that creeps almost romantically into the offices and laboratories.
“The design of the project is a tribute to the horse, this extraordinary being. Besides the fact that the brick construction tells of a local material, made from the earth of the place”, Ghotmeh stated.
In fact, the horse is the quintessential symbol of the French maison, which is always careful to never lose touch with its history.
The project was designed to minimize the need for artificial light and heating; in fact, the structure is heated by harnessing geothermal energy through solar panels and 13 heat pumps.
