Marine Serre parades to the rhythm of music

Anna Frattini

Marine Serre‘s co-ed Spring 2024 fashion show winks at the world of nightlife and music. At Salle Wagram, amidst Claire de Lune and a soundtrack reminiscent of a heartbeat in the background, the Heart Beat collection takes us into an entirely new musical dimension. The guests on the catwalk are not only models but also friends of the fashion house who work in the music industry, such as Teyana Taylor, Noah Cyrus, Sevdaliza, Arón Piper, Anetha, and many others. The show concludes with a performance by Miguel.

The choice of these artists is linked to Marine Serre’s musical taste. She is the French designer who won the LMVH prize in 2017. Therefore, the concept of the fashion show resembles that of a concert, with concert t-shirts given as gifts to the guests, all standing behind the barricades.

Marine Serre chose knitwear, one of her strengths, along with patchwork elements, camo, and crochet, which became one of the highlights of the fashion show. Animal print also follows the theme of the collection, reflecting the animalistic instincts associated with the emotions that music evokes. All the components of the garments come from regenerated or recycled fabrics, continuing to support the fashion house’s mission of promoting circularity and sustainability. Serre’s objective reflects her desire to bring an upbeat dimension of pure fun to the catwalk during a time of great changes. After all, we cannot deny that she succeeded in bringing a smile to our faces with her irreverent kitsch.
