Suede Dreams by the designerKhyati Trehan from New Delhi, currently in Berlin, is a rewarding visual experience. The harmony of colors and the plasticity of the shapes are cleverly matched in a project that enhances tactile qualities of suede.
“An ongoing personal project studying suede, an idea that sparked from something as routine as feeling the suede bag the material under my palms. “
In the still-life illustrated 3D tables, everyone can perceive the softness of the material and find visual and sensory sensations that Khyati wants to communicate to us: such as the wellness experience in touching suede with the palm of the hand.
The artist’s ambition is to create more than just a graphic design project, but a tactile dream.

Adam Parker Smith’s classical cube statues
Appearing like a joke are the works of AdamParkerSmith, a new chapter in the game that has for centuries prompted artists to desecrate the symbols of pictorial and sculptural tradition. The American artist creates his works using different materials and adopting different methods depending on the purpose, alone or involving others in the creations, the subjects of his works are often drawn from his fears, desires, obsessions, crushes and jealousies.
One of the most interesting works among those signed by Adam Parker Smith is precisely the series in which the artist “encloses” in 1 cubic meter of Carrara marble some of the most famous statues in the history of art. The sense is to see the best of classical art scrapped like an old machine, reduced to nothing more than a piece of junk, without majesty, height and elegance typical of these works.
The technique by which he was able to replicate exactly the details of Hellenic and Baroque statues was the result of work in which the digital research team of museums such as the Uffizi also participated. In fact, 3D modeling programs helped the artist reduce the works without alternating their proportions. For his sculptures Smith then involved carvers and robots, twisting not only in concept the meaning of artwork as a product of human ingenuity. Among the most famous works in the history of art Smith chose the Apollo del Belvedere , CupidTriumphant, Bernini’s David and Augustus of Prima Porta, among others, for a tribute that has substance and stylistic humor.
Among the most anticipated guests at Cvtà Street Fest, the street art festival staged June 23-26 in Civitacampomarano (CB), was undoubtedly the Iranian artist duoIcy and Sot. The duo consists of brothers Saman Oskouei (1985) and Sasan Oskouei (1991), known for their works that intervene in the urban landscape by activating reflections on the human condition. Human rights, detention, the plight of women and migrants, capitalism and climate change, these are some of the themes expressed through installations and stencils.
“In our work we try to reflect our times and our experiences. Mostly insculptural and installation format. We enjoy using different materials/objects As well as doing site specific works. We are not good at describing our work, we think the viewers do a better job as everyone could feel or get something different from the piece.“
In a world that must make strong decisions to solve these problems, Collater.al asked Icy and Sot to take sides in what is utopically a world in which there always seems to be only two contrasting elements to choose between. The artists’ works are also signs in the landscape that somehow define solids and voids, air and matter, specific portions of space.

What went down at the opening of “Displacement” in Rome?
On June 16 in the Contemporary Cluster gallery spaces in Rome the exhibition “Displacement,” the exhibition project curated by Giacomo Guidi in collaboration with Ginnika, was presented. The theme treated in the exhibition is Post Vandalism, a current that allows to define a new urban artistic landscape, not necessarily related to writers but also to more abstract and intangible expressions. In the opening, experimentation between media and cooperation between distant artistic expressions that find direct contact within the exhibition space immediately emerged, within which visitors were able to witness the evolution of a new creative process.
