HOMESICK is the graduation short film from the Plonter Animation Studio of Yoav, Hila and Noy, the final project of the animation course at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. It is a sensitive and profound film, presented in more than 65 film festivals around the world, which through charm and metaphor tells an accessible and universal story.
HOMESICK introduces us to an allegorical world where the landscape is closely linked to the emotions and feelings of those who live in it, where everything is built on a delicate balance and where very little is needed to stay afloat or sink.
The film tells the story of a young girl who is going through a moment of crisis and is forced to make choices and change the stability of those around her. Her condition completely transforms the harmony of her family unit, but in the meantime it also brings up love and old happy memories.
With a slow, suspenseful narrative, this short film reminds us that every choice we make has an effect on our surroundings and that every now and then, to feel better, we need to let go of the weight of things.
