And who doesn’t like Stranger Things? Have you seen the last season? Among his fans, there is also the Brussels-based photographer and filmmaker Xavier Portela, who has come to dedicate his latest photographic project called The Upside Down Glow to the series.

Using the rainy days in which the puddles create mirrored scenes of reality, Xavier tried to reproduce the Sottosopra. Of course, the city portrayed is closer to that of a cyberpunk video game, than to Hawkins, but the result is still interesting.

The color correction is very reminiscent of Blade Runner 2049, although the intention is, in general, to reproduce the lights and atmospheres of the ’80s to the present day.

The possibility of more worlds is not only a prerogative of Stranger Things but also of other TV series like the German Dark and many others: the possibility there can be a dimension invisible to us fascinates, intrigues and makes us reflect on what is the relationship between space and time, limits that man has given to reality to rationalize it.

Fortunately, however, the Upside-Down populated by the Demogorgon does not exist, but the series of images by Xavier Portela is more than real and you can look at it now in our gallery.
