With the project The Sound of Altitude, adidas transforms Italian peaks and urban skylines into soundtracks. In collaboration with producer RIVA and Alkemy, the brand translated the topographic maps of Milan, Cortina, Anterselva and Livigno into sounds and harmonies, creating a Spotify playlist that merges sport, creativity, and technology.

Each track reflects the unique identity of the place it was born from: Milan vibrates with metropolitan energy, Cortina invites contemplation, Anterselva evokes the focus of training sessions immersed in nature, while Livigno represents the strength and freedom of the highest altitudes. It’s a soundtrack for those who live sport as a form of personal expression — a way to find rhythm, balance, and inspiration between one workout and the next.

Beyond the playlist, adidas accompanies the project with a series of video interviews featuring athletes from the Italian team, including René De Silvestro, Dorothea Wierer and Lara Colturi, highlighting the bond between music, performance, and human connection. The Sound of Altitude is an invitation to rediscover the link between body and environment, between movement and melody — a symphony dedicated to those who experience both the mountains and the city with the same heartbeat.

The idea behind the project is simple yet powerful: if every athlete finds their strength in rhythm, then music can become an integral part of training — an extension of both body and mind. Thus, the sounds of Cortina, Milan, Anterselva, and Livigno blend with breath, heartbeat, and movement, creating a continuous flow between landscape and performance.

The stories of the athletes involved add an intimate layer to the project. René De Silvestro finds in the sounds of Cortina the strength of his races and the affection of his family; Dorothea Wierer turns the focus of biathlon into a sonic dance; while Lara Colturi and her mother Daniela Ceccarelli describe the transmission of sporting passion as a harmony between generations.
