On the occasion of the inauguration of its new Milanese headquarters in via de Amicis, 43, Wunderkammern will present Dan Witz‘s new solo show: American Baroque.
Born in 1957, Dan Witz is one of the most famous contemporary urban artists. Although he was born in Chicago, it was in New York, especially in Brooklyn, that Dan began his artistic career, which led him from the street to exhibit in some of the most prestigious art galleries and participate in international festivals.
Through his works, the artist deals with issues related to society, politics, economics, current events without filters.
Dan Witz’s interventions are born from the encounter between digital, which allows him to have a clear final result even before starting an artwork, and oil painting.

In the artworks exhibited at the Wunderkammern, you will find strong attention to detail, a characteristic that links his works to Baroque art, from which the name American Baroque.
At the center of the artistic research of this solo show are the American Mosh-pits, that is, the area in front of the stage of a concert where people go wild and dance to the rhythm of the music. In addition, the spaces of the Wunderkammern will host other works made in different periods from 2016 to 2019.
