The Arpoador hotel is the result of the restructuring of the Brazilian studio Bernardes Arquitetura and overlooks the Ipanema beach of Rio de Janeiro, taking its name from the adjacent area “Pedra do Arpoador”, a rocky peninsula that separates the famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema.
The hotel features a triangular balcony and a rooftop swimming pool. The building houses about forty-nine rooms totally renovated by the studio with the aim of creating an environment where interiors and exteriors merge into a single architecture, which goes beyond the traditional idea of hotel.
Even the interior is not far behind, decorated with materials chosen to evoke the ocean, such as woven straw, linen, cotton,
