C.P. Company celebrates 50 years and pays homage to Lucio Dalla

C.P. Company celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
In 1971 Massimo Osti, at that time a young graphic designer from Bologna founded the Chester Perry brand, which became incredibly successful thanks to its printed T-shirts. In 1978, the name changed to C.P. Company – a more direct name – and it was the beginning of a real revolution in the history of streetwear.
To celebrate the 50th-anniversary C.P. Company dedicates the first chapter of the “Anniversary Series” to the unique relationship between Massimo Osti and Lucio Dalla.

Born and raised in Bologna, Lucio Dalla was one of Italy’s most important composers and singers, whose music was for decades the soundtrack to the lives of several generations of Italians. He belonged to a genre of composers known as “singer-songwriters,” whose lyrics gave voice to the aspirations and frustrations of the post-war generation in search of social change. His lyrics were eclectic and ranged from the lives of ordinary people to his love of the sea to his passion for cars. He wrote about the world, religion and, of course, love.
Lucio used to describe himself as a “contaminator” of musical genres.

The story that binds Lucio Dalla and C.P. Company is a great story of friendship: Lucio and Massimo were an integral part of the cultural environment of Bologna in the 70s. At that time Bologna was the hub of Italian culture, in great ferment, with artists, designers, philosophers, singers and poets discussing the changes the modern world was facing.

A friendship based on mutual respect and on recognizing each other’s creative genius, which led them to collaborate on several projects: Massimo designed Lucio’s album covers and Lucio wore on stage the clothes designed by Massimo especially for him.¬†

The capsule collection created for the occasion consists of five T-shirts and one longsleeve, with archival graphics, images and new artwork that pay tribute to his musical genius.

In addition to the collection, C.P. Company and the Fondazione Lucio Dalla, have created an artist residency with students from NABA in Milan and DAMS in Bologna. The Lucio Dalla Foundation is a magical place that recounts the career and passions of the Italian singer-songwriter through his amazing life.

A documentary has also been made that tells the story of the special relationship between Massimo Osti and Lucio Dalla: two personalities with a shared vision, great innovators guided by an insatiable curiosity and with an eye always turned towards the future. The narration of their relationship is entrusted to friends and personalities who lived those years of great cultural ferment in Bologna and to clips taken from the archives of Massimo Osti and the Lucio Dalla Foundation.

The testimonial chosen for the capsule is Ghemon, singer-songwriter, musician and writer. His passion for C.P. Company and his admiration for Lucio Dalla’s artistic path make Ghemon the ideal face for this campaign, shot inside the artist’s house in the center of Bologna.

The exclusive capsule collection is available on 50.cpcompany.com and in all C.P. Company flagship stores in Milan, Amsterdam, London, Seoul and Tokyo, starting today, March 4th, Lucio Dalla’s birth date, which also became the title of one of his most beautiful and well-known songs, 4 Marzo 1943.

More than bodies, Rony Hernandes’ photography

More than bodies, Rony Hernandes’ photography

Claudia Fuggetti · 6 hours ago · Photography

Rony Hernandes is a model and photographer who uses body exploration as an expressive means to embark on new paths and depict characters who fully explore their sexuality without taboos. The artist tells his approach to photography as follows:

“Photography became a part of my life when I realized that I could go through what I felt and felt with the camera in hand, I express myself through self-portraits and stories.”

All images have a perfect composition and tend to highlight with great elegance body aesthetic harmony in every shape. The management of light is accurate and suggestive; nothing is left to chance, indeed, behind every shot there is a large study that contributes to a global representation of multiple moods that arouse strong emotions in the viewer.

On Rony’s Instagram profile you can find other very interesting images, in the meantime have a look at our gallery.

Carlota Guerrero and the naked beauty of women

Carlota Guerrero and the naked beauty of women

Giulia Guido · 12 hours ago · Photography

Simple beauty without censorship. That’s exactly how you could describe the art of Carlota Guerrero.

Born in Barcelona, Carlota is a self-taught artist and has been passionate about photography since she was a teenager. Over the years, the style of her shots has proved to be perfect for high fashion editorials, working for brands like Givenchy and Dior, for artistic performances, but also for advertising campaigns like The Force Is Female for Nike.

What has made the work of Spanish photographer known and appreciated internationally are her photographs that portray the beauty of female bodies. There are no veils, nothing hides the shapes of the bodies that are immortalized by Carlota’s lens.

The women portrayed represent their freedom, freedom to show themselves and their bodies, not because they are obliged to do so, but because they are free to do so.

Self-Portrait, Sofia Masini delicate portraits

Self-Portrait, Sofia Masini delicate portraits

Giulia Pacciardi · 12 hours ago · Photography

From the pictorial self-portraits of the past to the self-portraits taken with a smartphone, humans have always been fascinated by the photographic representation of themselves.
In fact, to question the meaning of beauty and identity, the Milanese photographer Sofia Masini created a series of surreal nudes against the backdrop of an empty apartment.

Her portraits, which are very delicate in colours are very strong in form. Distorted nudes, faceless figures jamming into the body, in strange corners created by the same arts.

A project that, according to the words of the photographer herself, allowed her to listen to her body, look inside without filters and find a safe space where she can express her feelings without fear.

Between reality and fiction, the photography by Ibai Acevedo

Between reality and fiction, the photography by Ibai Acevedo

Giulia Guido · 12 hours ago · Photography

Born in 1984 in Barcelona, Ibai Acevedo is a photographer who, thanks to his shots, takes us into a world on the border between dream and reality.

The one between Ibai and photography was neither a love born as a child, nor a love at first sight: there was a time, that seems so far away in which he was a graphic designer and in which he spent the summers peacefully, without having to take pictures of anything. Then something slowly changed.

Ibai Acevedo

Today Ibai Acevedo has found in the camera the means to express emotions and states of mind. To do this he has developed a very particular style, able to capture us and never let us go.

Through an almost exasperated and unnatural use of lights and colors, Ibai Acevedo manages to transform ordinary subjects and places, such as a bedroom or a bath in the sea, into something extraordinary and surreal.

We recognize everything in his shots, each element seems real but at the same time impossible.

Ibai Acevedo’s portfolio is a journey into the oneiric, ready to dive in?
