Dr. Martens, the iconic English footwear brand, in recent years has created partnerships with museums and cultural foundations to create special collections. In 2018, in collaboration with Tate Britain, he celebrated the painter William Turner, in June 2020 it was the turn of Jean-Michel Basquiat. This year celebrates the American artist Keith Haring.

Haring, among the protagonists of the New York art scene and the counterculture of the 1980s, was one of the most important pop artists, an emblem of post-pop visual art. With his style and innovative approach he literally revolutionized the art world and represented the New York street culture of that crucial decade. A decade marked by profound cultural, social and political revolutions.

Keith Haring’s imagination thus becomes part of the world of Dr. Martens who revisited two of the most iconic boot models in his collection, 1460 and 1461.

The angel, the angular dog and the bat are some of the symbols chosen by the brand. The Original silhouettes are printed with Haring’s instantly recognizable illustrations and embellished with colorful plaques.
