Fitacola is an art collage project started in 2005 by the partners, in art and in life, Graça and Carlos Quitério. The duo is based in Caldas da Rainha, in central-western Portugal and makes original creations: from illustrations and paper scraps to animated digital collage projects.

The translation of Fitacola is “adhesive tape” in Portuguese and indicates the true work of collage carried out by the two artists, which concerns the old magazines found in flea markets at the weekend or in second-hand bookshops: these fragments are layered and glued together with images torn from various colored paper cutouts.

From the destruction of chaos, something new and unexpected arises: art is born.
