Simple, attentive and with a touch of humor that never fails, Giselle Dekel‘s illustrations capture moods in a fun way.

Of Belgian origin, Giselle Dekel discovered her passion for drawing as a child, a passion so great that years later she left her job to dedicate herself completely to her illustrations. What could have been a leap into the void turned out to be the right step to take and today Giselle lives and works in Israel, where she works full-time on her art.
With over 50 thousand followers on Instagram, Giselle Dekel is inspired by her surroundings, people, the female universe, architecture, shadows, moods, interpreting each subject in a personal way and giving each illustration a touch of humor that makes every situation acceptable.
A woman lying on a pile of laundry to wash, or sitting inside a cup of coffee, or ready to dive into a nice frozen cocktail: the most banal and boring moments of everyday life are exaggerated so much that they become almost funny.
Moreover, the peculiarity of Giselle Dekel’s works lies in the fact that these subjects on the edge of the absurd are drawn with a mixed technique of watercolor and digital painting, with soft colors and delicate brushstrokes, giving the final result an almost surreal look.
