The Japanese outdoor brand Goldwin, continues with research and innovation and for Spring/Summer 2021 presents a capsule collection consisting of two outerwear in fabric made with nanofibers: the Element Jacket and the Fast Shell Jacket. 

One of the world’s first garments made from Pertex® Shield Air – a specially processed waterproof membrane featuring a multi-layer nanofiber structure – the Element Jacket is designed for specific use in adverse weather conditions, ensuring maximum warm air ventilation without weighing it down with additional layers.

The nanofiber membrane is composed of a multi-layered film structure with countless holes to maintain breathability without losing waterproofness. The jacket is heat-sealed for added protection while the pattern design has a relaxed fit and minimal use of seams ensures optimal mobility. This is the most versatile shell ever created by Goldwin.

The Fast Shell Jacket on the other hand is designed for running on rainy and humid days and to solve the problem of internal perspiration. Thanks to its total breathability, Pertex® Shield Air allows you to combine external waterproofing with maximum comfort and a dry feeling inside. The design and stretch fabric offer exceptional mobility. A large back pocket doubles as a ventilation channel, the adjustable hood helps protect against wind and rain, and when not in use, the garment folds into a small bag.

For the launch, Goldwin collaborated with London-based design studio Systems Studio to create two highly immersive videos that explore the symbiosis between the scientific world of technology and the magical world of nature, and how outdoor apparel can bring the two worlds together.
Taro Motoda, Creative Director of Goldwin said, “I wanted to create something similar to the instruction manual you receive when you purchase an IKEA piece of furniture. Step by step, you follow the illustrations and rules as if you were reading a children’s book, and suddenly you realize you’ve built a table. I wanted to visualize technology in a real environment but through an almost magical filter, creating highly artistic content that would convey emotions“.
