The 33 ASICS Sneakers Reimagined by Florence Tétier

It’s not just Agata Panucci and Caterina Mongillo (known as @metagirl.studio on Instagram) who are adding beads and charms to sneakers. Florence Tétier, for the second time, will also participate in Crafts For Minds by reimagining three iconic ASICS models: the Gel-Kayano™ 14, Gel-Nimbus™ 9, and Gel-Nimbus™ 10.1. The result is 33 unique pairs of sneakers, with all proceeds from their sale being donated to the École Les Petites Ruches. The launch photos, featuring artistic direction by Gui Boucher, add another layer to the project. Let’s take a closer look.

Who is Florence Tétier?

Florence Tétier is the co-founder of Novembre Global, the former creative director of Jean Paul Gaultier, and a jewelry designer for her brand launched in 2018, Tétier Bijoux. Through her brand, Florence delivers an unconventional project that aims to move away from the highly digitalized aspects of the fashion industry.

These 33 pairs of ASICS sneakers represent a project focused on reuse and material recovery, giving a second life to items that might otherwise go unused. Every creation by Tétier Bijoux is unique, handmade in Paris, with a production limited by the artisanal nature of the process.

What’s more, the ASICS models chosen for this collaboration are the same ones Florence wears daily. There was no need to alter the base design; instead, she simply added her personal touch by creating a series of handcrafted accessories made from recycled plastic, beads, and other recovered materials. The sneakers can be worn with or without the accessories, making them entirely customizable. Each pair includes two charms—one for each shoe. The pairs will be available for purchase on December 7th exclusively in-store at Dover Street Market Paris.
