The European Institute of Design (IED) has unveiled TRANSITIONS – an installation that combines art and fashion – in the Salone Brunelleschi of the Istituto degli Innocenti. Eight students are behind this project, selected by IED and guided by an exceptional mentor: Lucy Orta. An internationally renowned artist known for her extraordinary talent, Orta combines drawing, sculpture, textiles, photography, film, and performance, addressing contemporary themes with an innovative language of co-creation.
In the Salone Brunelleschi, a large stage welcomes the different projects of the students, who interact together, creating a common ground within which the concept of TRANSITIONS develops. Transition is understood as a moment of passage and complexity that accompanies every ongoing change.
