Kamelemba, il nuovo videoclip afro futuristico di Oumou Sangaré | Collater.al

Oumou Sangaré is a singer and musician of Malaysian origin, and her African-pop songs, but above all her strong feminist temperament, invite women from her country to follow the path of emancipation.

The music video of her latest track, Kamelemba, was directed by director and fashion photographer Chris Saunders, who for the occasion debriefed the Swaggers group’s dancers. Those in the video are in fact strong and independent women, who have come from generations of ill-treatment and discrimination.

The video, with a strong visual impact and African-futuristic aesthetics, refers to the Congo dandy subculture La Sape, which enhances elegance in dandy style and manners as a form of resistance to colonialism.
