This past weekend has given us some interesting insights. One of these was consumed during the last episode of Saturday Night Live, an NBC television program on the air since 1975, thanks to the performance of Kid Cudi.
The American rapper graced the episode of the famous TV show with a performance that has already become iconic.
After the live performance of the song “Tequila Shot” wearing a cardigan very similar to Kurt Cobain‘s in the very famous “Unplugged in New York” recorded on November 18th, 1993 at Sony Studios in the Big Apple, Cudi reappeared on the stage of the show for the second part of his performance singing “Sad People”.
He was wearing a flowered dress by Off-White and customized for the occasion that also recalled another famous dress worn by the Nirvana frontman during a live show in 1989.
What seemed to be only a tribute to Cobain had much more concrete implications.
Cudi told with a couple of tweets that Virgil Abloh hand was behind the floral dress after his explicit request and that this same dress will be included in the collaboration with Off-White on which the two are already working.
We just have to wait and see what Virgil and Kid Cudi have in store for us, but rest assured that we will keep you constantly updated.
