Kith hires Gustavo Frings for Summer 2022 campaign

If any of you have never seen Breaking Bad, my advice is to drop everything you are doing and get started. It is one of the best television series ever characterized by a compelling plot and characters that have rightfully entered the collective imagination.
One of them is for sure Gustavo “Gus” Frings, the main villain of the series starting from the second season and a character shrouded in mystery. Owner of the fast food chain “Los Pollos Hermanos”, Gustavo on the surface appears to be the classic man who has made it through sacrifice and hard work, a philanthropist and prominent man in the Albuquerque community, always ready for charity and a strong supporter of law enforcement. In reality, behind this good Samaritan facade lies one of the most prominent and dangerous methamphetamine distributors in the United States, who will be dealing with the series’ protagonists, Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul).

Playing the character of Gustavo Frings is U.S.-based but Italian-born actor, Giancarlo Esposito, whose mimicry and consummate villain face have propelled his character into the Olympus of all-time villains.dei villain di tutti i tempi.

Esposito himself is the star of Kith’s new campaign for the Summer 2022 collection, a collection that will be released on Friday, May 27.

A wonderful series of shots taken in Los Angeles and specifically at the striking and extraordinary Sheats-Goldstein Residence in the Bel Air hills and owned by multimillionaire, fashion addict, NBA super fan, architecture enthusiast and American show biz guru James “Jimmy” Goldstein.

What looks like the home of a super villain from the James Bond films of the 1960s-so perfect as a context for our Esposito/Frings-and where one of the cult movies in film history, “The Big Lebowsky”, was filmed-is a masterpiece of modern architecture signed by one of the most brilliant architects of our time, John Lautner, with whom Goldstein worked arm in arm to bring the project to fruition, until the day he died in 1994.

What is quite possibly the most beautiful mansion in Los Angeles is the backdrop for one of the most beautiful and apt campaigns of recent years, where product, testimonial, context and brand seem to be perfectly blended together, giving us a very powerful and extremely evocative imagery.

You can take a look at Kith’s entire Summer 2022 campaign starring Giancarlo Esposito here.
