Among the many “International Days” to be celebrated throughout the year, 28 October is International LEGO Day, a way to celebrate the history of the world’s most famous toy brick brand.
Whether you played with them as a child or are still trying to finish the last model you got for Christmas, today is the perfect time to imagine a world made entirely of bricks, including buildings and monuments, as TheToyZone has done.
The creative studio has used software to recreate 10 important buildings, not in miniature but on a 1:1 scale, to find out how many pieces would be needed but also how much it would cost to build them now.

TheToyZone, after analysing the building and calculating the number of LEGO bricks needed to make it, gives us another interesting information: how much the actual monuments would have cost (with inflation being taken into condiseration)? It turns out that the Taj Mahal would require a little over two billion dollars, the Statue of Liberty 1.1 billion, for a total of 16.3 billion bricks.
How many bricks would be needed for your house? Probably less than those used for the Colosseum: 154 billion.
