Marracash Also Wears the Samba

Anna Frattini

adidas Originals is launching a new global campaign this year to celebrate the Trefoil and its history. The slogan is “We Gave the World an Original. You Gave Us a Thousand Back.” The campaign is accompanied by three short films directed by Daniel Wolfe, Will Dohrn, and Justyna Obasi, each focusing on a different silhouette: the Samba, the Superstar, and the Gazelle. David Beckham, Jenna Ortega, Zinedine Zidane, and Pusha T are just some of the global talents involved in this project. In Italy, the stars are Marracash and Rafael Leão.

The Samba is the first shoe to make waves in the football world. A low sneaker with a rubber sole reinterpreted through Justyna Obasi‘s lens, starting from its history. The director takes us through time, starting with the fluid leg movements of footballers, to narrate all the subcultures that have made the Samba their favorite shoe.

The Samba shoes are also worn by Marracash during the Marrageddon, the highly anticipated festival dedicated to the artist, which includes two exclusive dates. The first, on September 23rd in Milan, was a great success, and we can only await the next one on September 30th in Naples to conclude this event celebrating Marracash’s career, featuring guests and many other surprises.
