The innovative design of OTW by Vans in the hands of Sterling Ruby

OTW by Vans returns to the territory it knows best: where skate, art, and design contaminate one another. The collaboration with S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. by Sterling Ruby stems precisely from this shared ground, from a vision that sees innovation as a process of simplification and subtraction rather than accumulation.

The core of the collection is the Authentic Prima, a new silhouette that reinterprets the iconic Authentic through sharper volumes and an almost industrial aesthetic. The squared rubber-coated toe, full-grain leather upper, and Sola Foam ADV cushioning turn a skate classic into an object with a strong character, suspended between memory and contemporaneity. Alongside it, a black-and-beige microcheck version with reflective details adds a more technical and graphic touch.

Among the most interesting pieces is also the Future Clog, a green hybrid clog that merges organic forms with sculptural references, echoing Ruby’s interest in craftsmanship and functional design. Completing the drop is a pair of red-and-black colorblock jacquard socks, fully aligned with the essential language of the entire offering.

Shot by Yudo Kurita, the campaign maintains a clean, straightforward tone, letting materials and silhouettes speak for themselves. A collaboration that confirms OTW by Vans as a platform for experimentation and Sterling Ruby as one of the most recognizable voices in the dialogue between art and fashion.
