OTW by Vans experiments with creativity

OTW by Vans is the new platform launched by the American brand that celebrates skateboarding as a cultural phenomenon beyond conventions. For Vans, it represents a true brand experience designed to explore and experiment through a fresh perspective. From its launch during the latest Paris Men’s Fashion Week to its first drop, let’s delve deeper into this new platform and all its potential.

OTW by Vans

The intention of OTW by Vans is not only to create a new space for experimentation and delve into the imagery associated with skateboarding but also to involve artists, designers, musicians, and entertainment personalities by bringing them together with key figures from the skateboarding world. Efron Danzing, Eyedress, Hooz, Nati, Rowan Zorilla, and Vegyn are thus the ambassadors chosen for the launch of this platform. In essence, the worlds of music, art, and design are reinterpreted by Vans through the imagery of skateboarding, ushering in a new era for the brand. All this while thinking about a seasonal lookbook featuring a wide range of OTW products, all set to be released throughout 2024.

The Announcement and the First Drop

The first mention of OTW by Vans came in Paris during Men’s Fashion Week last June. The brand unveiled the project with a skate installation on the Seine and a dedicated event. The inaugural drop introduced the Half Cab Reissue 33 Vibram, the shoe redefining the most iconic silhouette in skateboarding. Specifically, the vulcanized sole comes in three color variations in suede/mesh. But that’s not all; this first drop also includes the Patchwork Drill Chore Coat and the Patchwork Drill Pant, two elements looking toward the future of Vans apparel.
