Take a virtual tour of the Studio Ghibli Museum

Closed since February due to the spread of the coronavirus, the Studio Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Japan, has decided to reopen its doors and start receiving its fans in at least a virtual way.

A great novelty for the museum that, like many others, has decided to break the rule that obliges visitors not to take photographs or shoot videos, so that everyone can take a small tour directly from their homes and get out, albeit metaphorically, from the four walls that we have been staring entirely for a few months.

To do this Studio Ghibli has created a Youtube channel with 4 videos, some dedicated to a single room, others to permanent collections, props and works of art.

We start the tour with the first video, the one showing the entrance of the exhibition space, with large glass doors decorated with My Neighbor Totoro themed images.
The tour continues with a tour of the Space of Wonder Room, whose ceiling is decorated with a fresco of Kiki riding her broom and Nausicaä on her glider, and the café inspired by Howl’s Moving Castle.

A tour of just a few minutes, however, that allows us to enter a museum that, regardless of the current situation, is not exactly at our fingertips.

If you enjoy the experience, don’t miss our article on all the museums you can visit with just one click.
