After The Floating Piers, the floating walkway on Iseo Lake, Christo returns to amaze with a huge work. This time Bulgarian-American artist decides for the Serpentine Lake in Hide Park in London as the setting for his installation.
It’s his first public installation in the UK, but he doesn’t disappoint the expectations.

From today, in the middle of the lake will float The London Mastaba. The work is made by 7506 standard oil drums, colored in red, blue, violet and white. It’s 20 meters high and has the classic trapezoidal form of the mastaba, ancient Egyptian monumental tomb.

Thanks to the sunlight the different colors reflecting in Serpentine Lake’s water will create fascinating abstract images.
