“By tidying things up, I get a different approach”.
Hired by Switzerland Tourism, Ursus Wehrli tidied up the Rieterpark in Zurich for one day, turning a pile of leaves into a colorful installation. Then he put everything back in a mess so as not to compromise the park’s ecosystem, of course.
The artist, a performer known for his surreal and amusing attempts to “rearrange” the world, has even rearranged the great works of Picasso and Van Gogh according to color, now it is the turn of autumn.
It is known that autumn with its beautiful colors is probably the most chaotic season, but in a few hours all these colors have found a very precise chromatic collocation.
Ursus Wehrli’s installation at the Rieterpark takes up the book that collects his previous reordering works The Art of Clean Up.
