In the last period, the Sci-Fi style seems to be back on trend. We saw this recently when we talked about Hello Rabbit’s album covers, and we want to do so today with Tyler Spangler‘s illustrations, which are all the rage on Instagram for their super contemporary language. This style, which literally means Science Fiction, imagines a parallel and fantastic world but with real and plausible foundations. The reasons behind the success of Sci-Fi are probably the graphic ability to tell a lot about contemporary society, the use of bright and psychedelic colors but with a retro flavor that meets contemporary taste. Testament to its success-and Tyler’s-are the collaborations the graphic designer has done with major brands, including Gucci, Hermès, and New Balance, but also with institutions such as Tate Modern.
