Last Friday Alessio Meli, aka MELI, has released his latest single BYE, BYE via Futura Dischi / Sony Music.
He was born in Catania and used to define himself as a darkly singer-songwriter because in his songs, especially in the last one, he loves to sing about a restless and deeply alone youth.
This doesn’t mean that MELI is a sad songwriter.
Despite his nostalgic sound, he captures us mixing genuine lyrics with some rap influences.
We asked MELI to create a playlist for Vinilica with the songs that shaped his sound:
“Hello guys! Today I want you to listen to some of the songs that have relaxed / gassed me while I was recording my first record (it will be out so soon!). You might think that I only listen to sad stuff and I’m here just to clarify that it’s not entirely true! Sure in the following you will find some sad songs but mixed with others from Jamiroquai, Breakbot, Radiohead, Tom Misch, Parcels or Damien Rice.
So, this is my playlist for Collater.al“
